So... how’s life? | Studies, favourites & Dr. Beni’s talk

Assalamualakum and hi ^^

Honestly my fingers feel awkward when I'm writing this. I think I should at least post something in this blog once a month no matter how busy I am.

Macam biasalah, tak ada yang menarik pun hidupku ini. Setiap pagi pukul 7.50AM aku mengayuh basikal untuk ke kelas. Kalau 7.55AM baru nak gerak biasanya kayuh basikal dengan sekuat hati, sepenuh jiwa raga sehingga tachycardia palpitation dibuatnya. Kena datang at least satu saat sebelum Dr. masuk bagi mengelakkan cardiac arrest lololol. (Jangan tiru aksi ini. Sila datang awal ke kelas)

Kelas habis 4PM, kalau tak ada meeting, dapat rehat sekejap (Ya patutnya petang-petang keluar gi exercise, bukan lepak dekat bilik aigooooo I hope I can change). Pada malam hari kalau tak ada kelas pun selalunya ada meetings. Aku dah lama tak dapat job lukis potret so pada pukul 11.30PM ke atas akan siapkan kerja or study sampai pukul 2-3AM.

I love my life now. Alhamdulillah.

I like student life. Not yet married, sexy, free and single, friends as companion, and lecturers as inspiration. I want everything to stay like this for a few more years.

Not necessarily true for everyone, but this definitely applies to me.

 

Because free ebooks are available and physical books are too heavy to be carried around, I opt for ebook.

 
My team mates and I for a seminar entitled, Paedophilia: Predator Behind the Mask. Seminar ni ada markah untuk preclinical, so antara komponen penting selain exams. Do you know that Malaysia is the no. 1 consumer of online child pornography in Southeast Asia? That's the reason why we chose this topic. Paedophilia is actually a mental illness! (Maybe I should write about it in another entry)

My favourite canned coffee in the moment is WONDA Extra Espresso. Other coffee types aren't able to keep me awake. My daily dose of caffeine increases day by day.

1. Home made: Serbuk kopi + sikit air panas + fresh milk + ice!
2. Expensive coffee from Coffee Bean/Caffe Bene/Dal.komm/Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee
3. Canned coffee: Wonda Extra Espresso, Nescafe Latte

Home made tu ranked first sebab tak letak gula. I like it that way. Tak manis, rich milkier taste. Suka guna Dutch Lady punya fresh milk. Expensive coffee ranked second sebab dia expensive hahahaha. Canned coffee pulak ranked third sebab dia tak rasa fresh??? Coffee instant 3-in-1 yang kena bancuh pulak out of chart sebab manisssssss and the ingredients tak bagus of course. I tak suka. If you give me Maxim (a korean brand) punya instant coffee baru best sebab sedap dan tak manis macam instant coffee Malaysia.

 

Ini pun top favourite jugak ni tapi bila member balik dari Korea baru boleh dapat :-(

Tentang hobi:

Dah lama tak melukis. Nampak sangat sekarang melukis bila ada orang order lukisan je ahahaha. Berikut adalah beberapa art works yang tak berapa latest.

Ordered by a friend. Potret kakak dia dan suami kakak dia. Eh sweet pulak aku tengok. Masa lukis haritu bukak lagu Kasih Kekasih In-team kot.

 

Left: kawan sekolah lama order. Initially he wanted me to draw night scenery from anime pastu aku kata susah pastu dia bagi gambar senang untuk aku lukis ahahaha baik kan.

Right: classmate aku ternampak Whatsapp status aku upload gambar yang kiri tu, pastu dia nak suruh aku lukis sebijik macam tu untuk dia. Memang tak lah nak lukis benda yang sama kali kedua, memang tak akan sama unless photostate so that's the result hahahaha. 

The funny thing is kedua-dua lukisan bunga ni lelaki yang mintak aku lukis LOL. Luckily they paid me.

Tentang hobi kedua iaitu baking: 

Hari tu masa cuti aku sempat buat brownies, lemon olive oil cake, cheese pudding cake. Alhamdulillah lemak dapat diternak dengan jayanya.

 

Oven aku dah dimamah usia, I waited for 4 hours to bake this lemon olive oil cake. Pastu dia jadi buruk camni kahkah (Lepas dah gelek gelek gula halus atas kek tu baru lawa). Nasib baik sedap.

Tukar topic lagi: Petanque is the only sports yang aku boleh main dengan konfiden(???) Last main masa form 5 dulu. Pastu tetiba wakil Medic lawan Petanque Single category masa Sports Carnival. I got Silver medal! Alhamdulillah~

Dr. Beni's motivational talk: How to Train the Dragon Inside You.

The story begins in 2015 (EH AWALNYA HAHA). I am a big fan of Dr. Fatin Liyana so I was excited to buy DIAgnosis2 because of her actually. After I finished reading the book, I decided that the short story "Meet Dr. Roy Izman" written by Dr. Beni is my second favourite story in DIAgnosis2 after Genosid Direstui Dunia by Dr. Mafeitz. However, among the seven writers in DIAgnosis2, I like Dr. Beni's style of writing the most! My loyal readers might actually remember I mentioned it HERE. This is quite embarrassing, but I even cried reading "Meet Dr. Roy Izman" ahahaha. I forgot why I cried but it's still in my memory that I liked the short story so much.

I remember during Raya last year (or was it last 2 years???) Dr. Beni tweeted that he'd be waiting at Starbucks Berjaya Megamall Kuantan (if I'm not mistaken) for an autograph session. Since it was Raya, I wasn't at Kuantan so macam... ALAAAAA WHY NOW. hahaha. I really wanted my DIAgnosis2 to be autographed tapi takde rezeki masa tu.

A year later he came to my campus for a talk. 

Many students were excited as soon as the promotional poster came out. Many of us came as early as 7.30PM! Can you guess why? They booked the smallest lecture hall in that faculty building for the event. Dr. Beni is very popular among our students (banyak courses yang medical related dekat kampus ni macam Medic, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, Audiology, etc.). Dah boleh agak dewan tu akan full house. I myself cycled there from my hostel at 7.45PM but there were only a few seats left (the event was supposed to start at 8PM). In the end, the hall was packed like a tuna can. Ramai duduk atas lantai. I find this really, really funny.

Bila Dr. Beni masuk, we all shouted. Again, this is so funny maynnnnn. Macam fanmeeting instead of a talk. Apakah semua ini? Hahaha.

I'm glad I decided to go there and listen to his talk. His words were exactly what I wanted to hear since I felt like my motivation kept on disappearing; simply vanished into thin air. He came all the way from Singapore and even prepared presentation slides. He also shared his stories, which, I think, very relatable.

Dr. Beni shared a quote from Sir William Osler. At that time, something pops into my mind, "Oh is he the person whom Osler nodes were named after?" until I had to reread the quote because I was't focused. 

"Often, we are not kind to ourselves." Let's be kind to ourselves.

I brought along my DIAGNOSIS APOKALIPS since the other books are at home. Kebetulan buku ini sahaja yang dibawa ke Kuantan... sebab... belum habis baca LOL. Paling afdhol bawa novel Breathe but hey, at least he's one of the writers in D. Apokalips kan XD My friends even asked Dr. Beni to sign their pro-exam compilation book which I find it funny (again).

My first professional exam is waiting at its door. Wish me luck!
